The worst Football World Cup match injury and the one of most shocking fouls in football history occurred in a match between France and West Germany on July 8, 1982 and the victim was Patrick Battiston. Battiston was advancing towards goal with only the keeper to beat to have goal in but Battiston collided with Harald Schumacher-the West German goalkeeper, because of this collision Harald ruthless shoulder charge, separated Battiston from his senses banging him poleaxed on the spot. Due to this brutal collision and its worse effects it’s the 2nd worst injury in the list of Top 10 worst football injuries. As a result Battiston vertebrae was damaged, suffered from broken jaw and the loss of four of his front teeth. After having his jaw surgically settled up their place, he came back to action playing for Saint Etienne.
